The screen is split into three screens. The center screen first focuses on Minogue’s face while other top and bottom screens are used as a border. Lit a rose red, it illuminates strands of her hair.
As the borders disappear, her face is shown in grey and then in a faded red. The borders then return, with her standing in the center of a stage in white pants and a red top.
She smiles as her face tilts to the left, the lines blurred. Back in the center, lines squiggle around her. On stage, a skyline built-in silver light is behind her. Red barcode lines then border the screen as people fade in and out, as negatives. A kaleidoscope of Minogues look to the camera. The screen fades to black.
When it returns, the stage is lit in a harsh lavender as people dance around her. However, they are purposely choppy, shown as outlines as they move. The lights change to a lime and then a sunny yellow before returning to the lavender.
A block of white bulbs line the screen appear and then without a blink, it’s back Minogue and the dancers on the lavender lit stage. The colors become a rainbow, racing through the buildings.
Behind the violet light background, Minogue crawls on the floor. In a brief midnight blue, she giggles and then gets her face close to the camera. She twirls around, changing into a different outfit.
She puts her hand to the screen, which promotes her Kylie ring. The rose red satin sheet attached to her corset flies over and above her.
From an overhead angle, the dancers move from the fetal position and then spread their arms out. Minogue dances on the stage, wearing a pieced together string halter top with matching skirt.
She looks above and the camera bounces as orange arrows shoot towards her. Minogue grows smaller as the screen fades to black.
At first the video seems to stick with familiar images: screens with borders, negatives and looping the stills to create multiple Minogues. Instead, it focuses on the illusion of light. Complex images are created with only lines (including a skyline) with flashes behind it, indicating movement.
The video is able to maintain its feverish pace by splashing the screen with color and letting it stick. The splatters of the light are organized and timed to highlight the stage to an imperfect blur.
The imperfection and messiness is instinctive, as though it the light were measured with a cup before being poured. It could be an installation at an art gallery.
