On stage, she walks in stiletto boots. There’s a quick shot of the audience. Against a black background, she is colored in faded sapphire blue filter. The entire stage is shown, with faded apple red light as she sings in slow motion.
Back in black-and-white, she skips across the stage, from end to end and points to the audience.
While on stage, she claps her hands over her head and rolls her left arm. In black-and-white, she approaches the guitarist and arches her back as he plays. Filmed without any filter, she sings in slow motion, throwing her head back.
On stage, she shakes her shoulders to the drum beat. In black-and-white, she reaches her hand out to a fan.
Against a wall, she dances. Back in the vintage color filters, she points to several audience members as she walks along the stage. She pushes her back again.

The high energy video captures the manic rush of being on stage. Martika is active, running from end to end as she singles out her fans. She flirts with her band members and just dances to the music. Her natural exuberance is primal, as though performing is something she needs to do. She adds a seductive, rocker’s edge to it.
The video balances its own stylization rules and succeeds. It’s filmed with a vintage filter that makes it grainy in color and vibrant in black-and-white. Both of which could be found on Instagram today, making it ahead of its time.
Random images are inserted only a couple of times while a silhouette of her dancing against a wall is used the most. However, it moves really quickly that it seems like seconds. Half the time, it’s in slow motion (mainly for the stage and individual shots). The slow motion shots manage to do the impossible by allowing a breather from the action without halting it.
By creating a planned out pattern and then splicing it together to make it seem spontaneous with some random images here is a heady task. With a lesser director, the video could’ve been a dull mess. However, it livens up the concert video by adding filters and keeping it moving at every possible moment.
