Video Review: Pitbull, Flo Rida & LunchMoney Lewis “Greenlight”

A woman in lime green gladiator heels walks in a parking lot, wearing tight, black hot pants. Engines can be heard revving up. Women in bra tops and shorts wave lime scarfs around, excitedly waiting for the race. As she walks between the cars, both Pitbull and Flo Rida check her out.

Dancers, wearing checkered print bodysuits to match the flags behind them, perform on the platforms. Pitbull joins them in the center. Pitbull and Flo Rida share a handshake and then enter their cars. As women jump and up down in slow motion, Lunchmoney Lewis raises his pinkie fingers and thumbs in the air.

Parked by the Miami skyline, Lunchmoney Lewis begins to sing the chorus. She takes the lime green scarf off her neck and waves it as a flag to start the race. As they race by, a woman walking a dog stops and looks. Then, her dog looks also. The air from the cars causes a woman’s umbrella to flip inward. While a woman waters flowers, the speed causes them to tear apart. Pitbull cuts in front of Flo Rida.

They head onto the expressway and head further into the city. At an underpass, Flo Rida, Lunchmoney Lewis, Pitbull and all the women hang out. A woman checking her phone drops it on the ground and her dress flies up. She quickly puts her hand by her crotch to stop it.

In Miami, they pass the street art that lines the area. Flo Rida gets ahead of Pitbull. Pitbull makes a sour expression and hits the gas pedal. They head back on the expressway and then go through the tunnels. They pass up a bus, catching up to each other.

In a warehouse, the lights change from red to green as a game of “red light, green light” is played. The woman approach Pitbull as he assesses their beauty.

The dance on their platform as Pitbull, in his white suit, looks from the left to the right.

Rating: 3.5/5

The race is in all good fun and it shows off in Miami, from its skyline through its corporate buildings, past the coastline and into the downtown area in a fresh way. Here, Miami is presented on the whole, with more to offer than an awesome nightlife.

Specifically, the street art and cruise boat stand out the most. The street art gets the most attention, relaying an art form that people may only see if they seek it out on the internet. The other is the cruise boat, which benefits the city in tourism, which again gives a different perspective of the city beyond spring break.

The video has its moments of humor. When the dog turns to get a look, it does incite a chuckle. Pitbull and Flo Rida are neck and neck. However, it’s not really mentioned who wins. In the end, it doesn’t matter. They got to drive through Miami.
