At a beachfront bar, a group of twentysomethings drink their beers and listen to Brett Young as he plays his guitar. The bartender watches the sun set between pouring drinks. They toast to good times and good music.
Young, carrying his guitar, views the sun set as he walks on the beach on the way home. In his kitchen, he drinks a glass of water and glances at the bedroom. He shuts off the light and falls onto the bed.
On the beach, his wife (Olivia Jordan) walks barefoot and kicks up some water.
He sits up in bed and walks into the family room. He grabs some liquor from the bar and sits on the couch, flipping through the channels on the television. He returns to bed again. After tossing and turning, he puts on some sweats and plays basketball in his driveway.
He returns to bed again but lies awake. In the kitchen, he sits at the counter and plays Solitaire and makes himself a pizza. He goes back to bed again.
His wife puts her keys in a bowl and opens the door of the bedroom. In the bathroom, she takes off her heels and dress. She caresses his shoulder. He turns around and kisses her on the lips.
While playing, Brett Young spots a young couple cuddling as they listen to his music. They call out a request and he asks them how long they have been together. The young man answers two years. He plays their song and buys them drinks. After the show, one of the bartender asks him about his wife. He explains she went out with some of her girlfriends. As he sips his drink, he says he really missed her tonight. The bartender nods, saying he noticed. Young shakes his head and grins, saying “it’s that obvious?”
Back at home, he tries to fall asleep. However, without feeling his wife’s breathing or occasional snore to calm him, he can’t rest. He lingers around the family room, watching some infomercials on television until about midnight. Around 1 a.m., he heads out for some fresh air and plays some basketball. By 2 a.m., he makes himself some pizza and gets out the deck of the cards.
He checks his phone, waiting for a text message. She’s usually home by now. He washes his plate and then goes back to bed at about 3 a.m. and manages to get some sleep. He hears her walk in about 45 minutes later. She apologizes for being late after he kisses her. He tells her not to worry about it and they make love.
