Video Review: Christina Aguilera “Genie In A Bottle”

Christina Aguilera lies on a beach in Malibu, California during the final minutes of the sunset.

She walks to the screen door of the cabin and leans against it, watching the ocean. She walks on the deck and sits down.

She and several dancers perform a beach underneath a string of lights outside.

A friend of hers taps on the window and lets her know the guys have arrived. Her friend whispers in her ear as Aguilera about one of the boys. Aguilera sees her boyfriend smiling at her while he sits in the car.

She sits on the hood of the car as she and her boyfriend talk alone.

Her friends leap from the railing of the cabin. She walks by herself while her boyfriend follows behind her. He kisses her ear. She sits with him at the bonfire with their friends.

Christina Aguilera asks her friend what sex was like. Her friend answers that it hurt at first and asks her about her boyfriend. Aguilera says her boyfriend has mentioned it and says she wasn’t ready just yet. She tells her friend she’s been thinking about it. She really likes him but she’s not sure. He’s her first serious boyfriend. Her friend says it’s up to her. She has to be comfortable with it.

She sits on the deck before the party, thinking of what to do. They’ll be sleeping in bed together in the cabin. It’ll be her first night alone with him. She really loves him. Around the 3 month mark, he brought up sex. She was able to hold him off. However, they are nearing 6 months. Most of her friends already done with something with boyfriends by that time.

She worries about rumors starting up at school. Some of her female classmates have been called sluts and developed reputations after sleeping with their boyfriends. Her boyfriend is really a good guy. However, if they break up, it scares her that he may start talking about her with his friends.

On the beach, he catches up her and says he’s excited to be with her tonight. She stays her distance from him while they sit together. He asks her what’s wrong. She tells him she’s still not ready to have sex yet. He says it’s okay. He wasn’t expecting anything from her tonight. It’s her decision and he doesn’t want to put any pressure on her.
