Kylie Minogue gazes at the stage as she walks into the theater. She has been gone for too long. Almost every year during her tour, she made a stop at the Teatro La Fenice. It held a special place in her heart.

Her manager suggested Jason Savoretti join her one night for a duet. She agreed to it. However, as they performed on stage, she fell in love with him. She couldn’t leave her husband, though. She hadn’t been ready to blow up her life. He continued to talk to her and offered his support. It was a decision she regretted.

While on a tour several years later, she learned he had gotten married. She turned away from music. Her marriage ended soon after. Her husband no longer saw her as viable and quickly took up with a young pop star. She started teaching. The parents told her she was a great teacher but they would love another album from her one day.

Savoretti had contacted her the other day, asking her to sing with him during his concert. She said yes. He was the only person she wanted to perform with. He had confided in her that his marriage was over and she couldn’t say a word. It was time, he said, they have been waiting for decades. She put her hand in his and started to sing.
