Video Review: Brett Young “Here Tonight”

Brett Young stands barefoot on the sand while at the beach. Lightning strikes as he touches his heart.

A young woman, wearing a robe, puts on makeup in front of the mirror. A shirtless young man puts on his belt in the bedroom. He takes a dress shirt out of the closet and puts on his suit jacket.

She pulls up the strap of her dress. He puts the watch on his wrist and brushes the sleeves of his jacket. She puts on her earrings. The young man, her husband, closes the clasp of the necklace around her neck. He ties his shoes and she shakes her out of the bun.

He takes the wine off the table and she carries her gift. They watch the storm over the ocean and hold hands as they walk in town. It begins to pour and he opens the car door for her. They make out in the car.

Rating: 5/5

The young woman shivers inside the car. Her husband gives her his suit jacket and kisses her shoulder. She tells she has missed being with him. He nods his head, adding it has been a long time since they were able to be a couple. As they watch the rain cloud the windshield, he says he had an entire night planned and wonders if they can still make their reservation. He presses a button on the dashboard and says the restaurant’s name. She ends the call with her finger and says they can stop at a diner on the way home.

He turns his head towards her and says he thinks he’s a terrible father. He barely puts the effort into the marriage, let alone raise a child. She puts her hand on his cheek and says he’s a great father and says they have been under a lot of stress. The baby has been a huge change in their relationship. Every day she questions her parenting. However, she wants to be able deal with it together.

The rain trickles on the windows as the sky clears up. He puts the car in drive and she suggests going to their favorite diner. Their usual servers haven’t seen them since she had the baby. He wonders if they have any specials left. She calls the diner and asks them to hold two stuffed green peppers for them. He smiles at her and leans in for another kiss.
