Video Review: Klymaxx “I Miss You”

Crew members board the tour bus. Joyce glances up at her apartment window as she holds the door.

In her apartment, Cheryl looks out the window as she plays guitar. She walks to the microphone. Joyce walks back and forth as she sings into the microphone. She throws a balled up piece of paper at Bernadette as she plays the drums. Bernadette dodges it and laughs. She rests her arms on the piano as Lynn plays.

Several family members wave hello as Joyce watches them walk into her apartment. Lorena hugs her husband and kisses him. Bernadette ruffles her nephew’s hair. Bernadette’s nephew pretends to play drums while his mom and dad sit next to him on the couch. Lynn hugs one of her Cheryl’s brothers. Someone hands Joyce a cat. The family members leave the apartment. At night, she looks out the window.

A band member pats Joyce on the shoulder as she boards the bus.

Bernadette promised to take lots of pictures for her nephew. She asks her sister and her husband to keep an eye on her house. Her sister says she has the schedule for her bills. Joyce kisses her cat and tells him she’s going to miss him. She tells him to be good to her uncle while she’s gone. Lynn talks to some of Cheryl’s family and gives them the itinerary.

On the bus, Joyce stares at a photo of her cat. Bernadette looks out the window. Lynn sleeps. Cheryl writes in her journal. Conversation ended hours ago. Joyce watches the multiple exits pass by. The tour bus driver says he’s going to stop at the gas station soon. Joyce wakes up Lynn. Cheryl says she wants some snacks. Bernadette runs out of the bus, saying she can’t stay in it anymore.

It’s going to be a long four months. Joyce hopes her cat doesn’t think she abandoned him. Although she knows he’s in good hands, she wishes she could pet him right now. Lynn asks her what’s wrong. She says she’s already missing her cat. Lynn tells she had to make a phone call to her sister. It seems there are a dozen things she wants to tell her. The tour bus driver announces it’s time to get back on the road. Bernadette rushes back onto the bus.
