A message reads against a black screen: “In loving memory of Nipsey Hussle.”
Hussle and DJ Khaled walk out of an aqua blue painted home.
A police siren goes off. John Legend plays the piano on the back of the truck as it drives through a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California.
A group of young men stand together on the sidewalk. A seventysomething woman stands on her porch and looks at the street. A 12-year-old kid walks with his sister past the group of young men.
Hussle stands on the sidewalk by his home.
Hussle and Khaled rap on top of a parking structure while two cars bounce up and down.
The group of men disperse. A young man sits in the backseat of the police car.
Hussle, DJ Khaled and Legend walk around on the parking structure and raise an arm in the air.
Nipsey Hussle interviews a young man for a position at his Marathon Clothing. The young man explains he’s a hard worker and says he’ll be on time. Hussle tells him his start date and he’s glad to be working with him. The young man shakes his hand and tells he’ll be back on the weekend with his paperwork.
Hussle finishes his shift at his store. While on the way back home, he sees the chalk outline of a body. He puts his head down. Another young person taken too soon. Hussle bites his lip. His security guard pats him on the shoulder and asks him if he’s okay. Hussle answers he’s not and says he needs some time.
Time seemed to be limited lately. He wanted to live until he was 100 years old and meet his grandchildren. There were projects planned for his community. His girlfriend had asked him what was wrong the other day and he said he had needed to her voice. It had helped but couldn’t shake the fear inside him.
