Danny searches for Sandy as he holds up the trophy. Cha-Cha pulls him toward him and asks him if he’s up for a good time. Danny excuses himself and says he has to go. Danny runs into the parking lot and catches up with Sandy. He puts his arms around Sandy and apologizes. Sandy wipes the tears from her eyes and wants to know if he’s getting back together with that girl. Danny tells her he loves her. He asks her to please come back to the dance with him. She says she’s so humiliated and doesn’t want to go back. He starts to slow dance with her in the parking lot and she smiles as she rests her head on his shoulder.

The song was cutting off. However, Diane couldn’t face Lloyd. She couldn’t be with him. Lloyd, though, was persistent. He would stand there all night, fixing the boombox if he had to do so. The song continues in full and she smiles. She walks downstairs and joins Lloyd in the driveway. Lloyd asks if it means they are dating. She shakes her head “yes” and hugs him.

Joel performs a dance for his girlfriend, Lana. Lana calls him a big goof and dances with him. He tells her she’s beautiful. They kiss on the bed. She tells him he’s going to miss class and lose his scholarship. He says he doesn’t care. She squeezes out of the couch and says she has to work on a paper anyhow. He gets off the couch and says she’s right. Lana slaps him on the butt and tells him good luck on his test. He kisses her goodbye and grabs his keys.
