Video Review: Maroon 5 “Lost”

A heavy fog covers the beach as Adam, Jesse, James, Matt, PJ and Sam walk and stand on rocks. A twentysomething woman carries her umbrella as she walks. Adam puts his hands behind his head as he walks on the sand. White sparkles of light dance on the water and linger under the waves.

A twentysomething mermaid swims in the water. Jesse, James, Matt, PJ and Sam sit on the sand while Adam steps from rock to rock. He swims in the water and watches the twentysomething mermaid. She puts her hand on his cheek and kisses him. Adam runs on the sand and into the ocean.

Rating: 5/5

Adam puts his hands in the ocean. Some of the dirt was still under his fingernails. Over the past year and a half, he had done it two other times. A couple of his friends weren’t doing well. They hadn’t posted in awhile. He had sent messages and was told by family the person was sick.

Another obituary shows up in his feed. He had been thinking of the person lately and hoping they had been on a social media break. However, he knew the hope was only ignoring the reality of what it could be. His wife had mentioned she was talking with lawyer to put their affairs in order. His hand on his forehead, he told her to do what she needed.

He jumps into the ocean and swims to the bottom. While the fishes pass him, he sees a mermaid and takes her hand. She urges him to come closer and kisses him. His hand becomes scaly and his dress pants tear. He flaps his fins and follows the mermaid.
