Video Review: Selena Gomez “Slow Down”

The spotlight on the Eiffel Tower shines over Paris, France at night. Selena Gomez, in the backseat of the limousine, passes by the Fontaine des Mers. Lit in aqua, she dances by herself as the lasers crisscross around her. Wearing a crop top and black pants, she dances with a group of people in a club lit in aqua. She walks on the street.

Her driver speeds in a tunnel. Lit in aqua and hunter green, she continues to dance at the club. In the backseat, looks out the window.

Rating: 3/5

Selena Gomez dances in the backseat of the limousine. She tells her driver to go faster. While the city whirls by, she views it with hungover eyes. She was exhausted and wide awake at the same time. At the club, she danced the entire time with a twentysomething man.

She whispered to him, “slow dance with me.” But he couldn’t hear over the thundering beats. She stayed to as close to his body as she could. He spoke to her in French. From the little she could gather, he may have said “drink.” She had walked to the bar and lost him within the crowd.

Paris was such a beautiful city. She visited it least at twice a year. In her phone, she searches for photos of him. No photographers had caught sight of him. The gossip sites were silent. She sits back in the seat as her driver takes the exit to the airport.
