Rating: 3/5

The twentysomething woman screams as she rides the Pendulum. Her stomach lurches and she wants to vomit. She puts her head down, willing it to stop. She drapes her right arm on the edge of the cup. A few years ago, she would’ve had friends distracting her and joking her. She didn’t remember getting sick at all.

On the Ferris wheel, she gazes at the park. She remembers when her then-best friend dropped her ice cream on the ground. She had shared hers with her then-best friend. Her then-best friend was still in her contacts. She begins to type a message and deletes it. It wasn’t worth her time.

John Newman asks if he can sit next to her on the carousel. She tells him “sure.” He says, “I went here so many times in middle school.” The twentysomething woman says her last visit was two years ago. She thought it’d be around forever. Newman says he wished he would’ve gotten a season pass last year. She taps him on the shoulde and asks if he wants to look for the roller coaster carts. He hops off the horse and tells her it may be in the back. She laughs, saying she thinks she know where it might be.
