Video Review: Rosanne Cash “Blue Moon With Heartache”

Rosanne Cash leans against the Exit/In building in Nashville, Tennessee. She watches the cars drive by. A thirtysomething man and woman hold hands as they walk. He lifts her up as they hug. Cash closes her eyes and spots a second thirtysomething man and woman kiss on the right side of the sidewalk. A third thirtysomething man helps a third thirtysomething woman out of his truck. Cash sees the third thirtysomething woman’s engagement ring.

Across the street, at Obie’s Chicago Pan Pizza, she sees a fourth thirtysomething man. The fifth thirtysomething man and Cash stare at one another in her home. She runs across the street and taps the man’s shoulder. He gives her a strange look and she leans against the window. Checking the time, she walks back to the Exit/In.

She kisses the bartender in the bar and shakes the hand of a fortysomething man as he sits at a table. Standing at the microphone, she sings on stage.

Rating: 3.5/5

Rosanne Cash cancels the show. She says she can’t do it. The fortysomething man asks if she wants to talk about it. Scratching her forehead, she says no and says she has to go. She walks out of the venue and heads to her car. All she wanted to do was to forget.

Sitting on her couch, she presses her knuckles on her forehead. She turns off the light. It was bothering her eyes. She’d been crying on and off for almost two weeks now. Even blinking caused her some pain. She just wanted it to stop. She just wanted to be who she was before. However, her ex-boyfriend took those pieces of her.

Cash chokes down some pizza at Obie’s, She usually enjoyed it. However, her throat was dry and she questioned why she ever went to eat there. Her ex-boyfriend wasn’t going to show up. She was torturing herself for no reason. Pushing the dish aside, she puts her hand on her cheek and stares at the Exit/In.
